Dr. Adeel Abid is and Advocate before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, obtaining his Ph.D. in law from Karachi University in 2016. He has spent much of his career with Surridge & Beecheno, where he became a partner in 2017. His principle areas of practice and experience include:
Civil Litigation relating to diverse legal issues arising out of
Admiralty & Shipping laws, Civil Aviation Laws, Company Laws, Labour Laws,
Insurance Laws, Property & Rent Laws, Family & Succession Laws, Contract Laws,
Private Criminal Complaints, Services Laws and Law of Tort etc. Involved in handling
independently civil litigation in High Court, District Court, Labour Court, Banking Court,
Appellate Tribunals, Land Revenue Department, Foreign Exchange Adjudication Court,
NIRC, Registrar Office and Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan and
succeeded number of cases in favour of our clients on merits.
Drafting pleadings, applications, affidavit, and other court papers, preparing clients and
their witnesses for recording of their statements & cross-examinations in accordance with
the facts and the law applicable to their respective cases, leading evidence and forcefully
arguing their respective cases before the court of law, submitting oral and written
arguments at various stages of the proceedings, rendering opinion, written and oral,
keeping clients of the firm updated on their matters corresponding with them on regular
basis also holding meetings with them and protecting interest of clients.
Preparing and vetting of agreements, preparing Notices and Minutes of Board Meeting as
well as Extra Ordinary / Annual General Meeting, preparing resolutions and filing of
returns on behalf of different companies was also included in my responsibility. Have also
been involved in research work from time and time as and when required, rendering
opinion to clients and the matters related to International Treaties, Agreements,
Conventions, Protocols, Regulations etc.
Assisting clients in various property matters in selling, purchasing, leasing and
registering the documents including Will, Gift Deed etc. Have also advised clients on
succession matters including letters of administration, obtaining respective certificates
from the respective courts.
