After graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand, William completed his articles at the now defunct firm of Hertzberg Margolis. He was made an equity partner of that firm in May 1995. During this time he practised in the firm’s litigation department, focusing on the area of landlord and tenant, whilst pursuing a burgeoning interest in the area of transport and, in particular, freight forwarding.
In November 1999, William co-founded Fullard Mayer Morrison Inc., together with Richard Mayer and Mitchell Morrison. He is one of its original directors.
William has built up a substantial commercial litigation practice with a special focus on the area of transport and freight forwarding where he advises a broad range of clients, from couriers, hauliers, warehousemen, clearing agents and freight forwarders, to industry associations.
William is currently external legal counsel to the South African Association of Freight Forwarders and is the South African editor of Forwarderlaw, the web-based legal resource on freight forwarding. He is also the editor of TPN Leasepack, a suite of commercial documents specially developed for Tenant Profile Network, a registered credit bureau
William has extensive experience as a public speaker and has presented a number of seminars in the areas of freight forwarding, international trade and landlord and tenant.
