FIATA Director-General Dr. Stéphane Graber confirmed by email yesterday that the FIATA headquarters sessions scheduled for 24-28 March 2020 are being cancelled as a result of concerns over the spread of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus.

According to the communiqué:

This decision being taken on the recent changes in the Covid-19 (corona virus) contagion in Italy and now in Switzerland. FIATA is mindful as to its duty of care to its Members, its staff, and civil society who would be with FIATA at the event location the Swissotel Zurich. The event will not be rescheduled due to the uncertainty as to the ability of Governments to contain the continued spread of the virus in Switzerland and Europe, event dates/location conflicts and the impact on the World Congress 2020. […]

FIATA regrets this inconvenience; however, its corporate responsibility and duty of care should be noted. Our sympathies go to those affected by the Covid-19 all around the world
